Oliver D. Smith

I'm a classicist and independent researcher currently studying for a PG Certificate in Humanities & MA Classical Studies at Open University. I studied Latin and A-Level Classical Civilisation from National Extension College, Roman Britain Archaeology from Oxford Learning College and BA (Hons) Classical Civilisation at Roehampton University; I wrote my bachelor's thesis on Plato's Atlantis and self-published a book covering my thesis. I also wrote an article in Shima, contributing to a special journal issue on Atlantis ("Submergence: Atlantis and Related Mythologies") and made The Atlantis WikiMy key research interests include ancient Greek mythical islands and island utopias, as well as monsters in ancient mythology, folklore and cryptozoology.
